Just a Taste of NJ and Carson’s Cookie Dough were created to build meaningful, inclusive employment opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our mission is to empower individuals through real work in a real business, where quality, responsibility, and pride in what we create come first.
We were inspired by our son Carson, who is on the autism spectrum. Through our journey, we learned that when many individuals with developmental disabilities turn 21, they often “fall off a cliff”, meaning they lose access to school-based services, structure, and
support, and becoming at risk of regression after years of hard work building essential life and job skills.
This challenge is compounded by the fact that the unemployment rate for autistic adults remains over 80%. We are here to help show that autistic adults are an untapped and highly capable resource in our economy, ready to contribute, grow, and add tremendous
value to today’s workforce.
We believe in doing what we can, with what we have, while intentionally building a strong foundation that allows us to grow in a sustainable way. Our long-term goal is to create stable employment opportunities.
Right now, we offer two primary pathways into our bakery:
1. Work-Based Learning (WBL)
We partner with local schools to provide supervised, real-world job experiences for students. Participants learn workplace skills such as following procedures, working as a team, food handling, packaging, and time management.
2. Vocational Training (through JTB Consultants)
We host vocational training groups that focus on skill-building, confidence, independence, and exposure to a real business environment.
Both programs are designed to meet individuals where they are, and help them grow.

We are growing carefully and intentionally. Our priority is to build the systems, staffing, training, and financial foundation required to support stable employment for the long-term.
That means expanding at a pace that ensures safety, success, and dignity for every individual who works in our bakery.
We currently offer five cookie flavors, all made with high-quality ingredients and baked or prepared in our commercial kitchen. We also offer a collection of merchandise so you can show your cookie pride!
Depending on where you’re located, you can enjoy our cookies in two ways:
Our Cookie Dough Kits include frozen, pre-portioned cookie dough scoops and parchment paper, so you can bake warm, fresh cookies at home whenever you want.
They’re perfect for families, gifting, events, and cookie nights.
Do you ship?
Yes! We ship our baked cookies nationwide. Local customers also have access to cookie dough kits and in-store offerings.

Making cookies involves many steps: measuring, mixing, scooping, baking, packaging, labeling, and shipping. That means many different types of jobs, skill levels, and learning opportunities can exist within one business.

Annietober365 is a nonprofit organization created in honor of Annie, a brave young woman whose love of baking inspired a movement to support families impacted by childhood cancer.
Annietober365 raises awareness and funds for childhood cancer research and
family support by selling cookies baked using Annie’s special recipe and other
mission-driven initiatives. Every Annietober365 cookie represents hope, love, and action in the fight against childhood cancer.
